Ventus is working with a key client at the heart of a multi-billion-pound floating offshore wind project - one of the most significant renewable energy developments in Scottish waters - is looking for an experienced Land Manager to take ownership of its land strategy at a critical stage of development.
The project has reached a number of key milestones already with Onshore and Offshore Consent applications already submitted. The team is now accelerating toward construction-readiness and a 2029 Final Investment Decision. This is your chance to shape land delivery on a genuinely landmark project from the inside.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Consents and Land, you will lead all aspects of the Project Land Strategy — negotiating commercial agreements, securing access and survey rights, managing landowner relationships, and ensuring property interests align with engineering, grid and programme requirements across a complex onshore infrastructure package.
Key Responsibilities
Negotiating and concluding land agreements for onshore cable, substation and associated infrastructure
Securing and managing access, survey, crossing and interface agreements with landowners and third parties
Managing external property consultants and legal advisors
Collaborating across commercial, legal, engineering and grid teams throughout the project lifecycle
Tracking programme, budget and risk, reporting to senior leadership
What You'll Need
Degree in a relevant discipline plus around 7-10 years' land management experience in energy or infrastructure, ideally within offshore energy context but linear infrastructure project context is also relevant e.g. roads, pipelines etc.
Proven land negotiation skills and an established stakeholder network in Scotland
Strong understanding of farming and land management practice
Experience on Scottish transmission, offshore wind or linear infrastructure projects (desirable)
MRICS or equivalent professional membership (desirable)
Full driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across Scotland, particularly Aberdeenshire
Eligible to work in the UK
