Investment Manager

We’re working with a leading investment platform in Ireland, to appoint an Investment Manager to focus on renewable energy and electrification.
Key responsibilities
Transaction Origination:
Identify and originate new investment opportunities across Electrification Enabling Infrastructure sectors as well as renewable energy and energy storage assets.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with developers, advisors, sponsors and industry participants (e.g. TSOs / DSOs, industrial off-takers, flexibility aggregators).
Attend conferences and industry workshops.
Track market developments, regulatory changes and emerging themes to inform new deal flow.
Screen inbound opportunities and assess strategic fit with fund objectives.
Strategic Partnerships:
Structure and execute platform investments, JVs or minority growth investments in growing Electrification Enabling Infrastructure developers / operators.
Due Diligence and Transaction Execution:
Lead and coordinate due diligence processes across commercial, technical, legal, insurance, financial & tax, financial modelling, project finance, hedging and ESG work streams.
Review and negotiate transaction documentation (e.g. Share Purchase Agreement, Shareholder Agreement) and project contracts where applicable.
In certain instances, work with co-investment partners to facilitate their provision of capital alongside managed funds as part of investment consortia opportunities.
Manage external advisors and ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
Co-ordinate with internal Finance, Construction and Asset Management colleagues to inform business case assumptions and complete due diligence for new investment opportunities.
Identify key risks and mitigants and integrate findings into investment recommendations.
Support structuring, negotiation and execution of transactions through to financial close.
Investment Committee and Stakeholder Management:
Prepare high-quality Management Committee and Investment Committee ("IC") papers, including investment rationale, risk and mitigant analysis, returns and asset and market summaries.
Present investment opportunities clearly and persuasively to senior management and IC members.
Candidate Profile
Minimum four years' experience of investing in or providing M&A advice to investors in renewable energy, energy storage and electrification enabling infrastructure assets across target markets including the UK, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and other Western European markets, with a good understanding of key value drivers and return metrics (e.g. IRRs, cash yields, or exits).
Electrification domain expertise across areas such as electricity networks / grid services, private grid, electrified heat, distributed energy platforms, and flexibility / storage.
Strategic mindset with ability to assess emerging technologies and business models and translate them into investable opportunities.
Experience leading or supporting end-to-end transactions, including due diligence, documentation, structuring and negotiations.
Financial modelling and valuation skills, with the ability to critically assess complex project finance structures and risk-return dynamics.
Commercially driven with the ability to identify opportunities, develop relationships and contribute to deal sourcing.
Strong project and stakeholder management skills using both written and oral communication.
Transactional experience in project debt financing would be an advantage.
Computer literacy (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and familiarity with AI tools.
