Lead Land Manager

Ventus is working with a leading developer, to appoint a Lead Land Manager in Scotland.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all land acquisition and management activities for onshore renewable projects from early-stage development through to construction.
Oversee landowner negotiations, Heads of Terms, and option/lease agreements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, and stakeholders across rural communities.
Provide strategic input into site selection and feasibility assessments with the development and planning teams.
Manage internal land teams and external land agents, ensuring efficient and consistent engagement processes.
Track and mitigate land-related risks, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Support consent, grid, and construction teams with land access, route planning, and wayleaves.
Represent the business in community consultations and stakeholder engagement events.
Experience
Proven experience in land management or acquisition in the onshore renewables sector (wind, solar, or grid).
Strong understanding of land law, agricultural tenancies, and property rights relevant to infrastructure development.
Skilled negotiator with experience managing landowner relationships across multiple projects.
Familiarity with GIS tools and site evaluation processes is a plus.
Team leadership experience, with the ability to manage consultants and coordinate cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
