Head of External Engagement

The Head of External Engagement role will see you working within a small team to oversee the delivery of high-quality, impactful communications outputs that respond to industry and organisational priorities. Through close collaboration across the organisation, this role will help maximise media exposure, stakeholder influence, and the value we provide to our members.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Supporting the development of press releases, media responses, and opinion pieces aligned with industry trends and organisational objectives.

  • Translating complex policy concepts into engaging and accessible content to build awareness and understanding of key priorities.

  • Showcasing organisational achievements, events, and member benefits through creative, innovative, and strategic communications.

  • Building and maintaining strong, productive relationships with members and key stakeholders to enhance organisational visibility and reputation.

  • Representing the organisation at conferences, events, and external meetings.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three to five years’ experience in communications, with responsibilities covering media and multi-stakeholder engagement.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a track record of developing and delivering successful engagement strategies that achieve measurable outcomes.

  • A responsive team player who can manage multiple priorities collaboratively and effectively, with a strong client-service ethic.

  • Strong critical and creative thinking skills, with the ability to provide innovative solutions informed by both qualitative and quantitative analysis.

  • A personable and credible communicator, experienced in presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
