Ventus are seeking an experienced Power Systems Engineer to join a growing High Voltage (HV) Networks team within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy.

Role Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Contribute to achieving business targets for the HV Networks and broader Energy teams.

  • Foster a positive team culture aligned with corporate values.

  • Manage team workload and resource planning to ensure strong performance and diverse project experience.

  • Perform line management duties, including performance reviews, setting development goals, and day-to-day team support.

Project Delivery

  • Act as Project Manager on power systems projects, ensuring delivery within budget, time, and quality standards.

  • Lead technical tasks within multidisciplinary projects.

  • Review technical models and reports prepared by the team.

  • Provide subject matter expertise to advisory and consulting assignments.

Business Development

  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of projects to support team utilisation.

  • Build and nurture client relationships to support business growth.

  • Lead and support bid development, ensuring competitive and technically robust proposals.

  • Represent the company in marketing and promotional activities to showcase capabilities.

Strategic Contributions

  • Assist in defining business targets and creating plans to achieve them.

  • Support team development by recruiting and training to meet changing client needs.

Essential Requirements

  • Significant consultancy experience in the energy or power systems sector.

  • Strong understanding of power system components and operations.

  • Expertise in power system modelling and analysis at both transmission and distribution levels using industry-standard software.

  • Proven experience in team and project management.

  • Strong experience in bid preparation and client engagement.

  • Established industry network within the power sector.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a closely related discipline.

  • Chartered Engineer status with a recognised professional institution (e.g., IET or equivalent).
