Market Intelligence & Investment Governance Manager

We are seeking an experienced Market Intelligence & Investment Governance Manager to strengthen renewable energy developers ability to make evidence-based investment decisions, aligned with both market dynamics and internal strategic priorities.
The role will help ensure that opportunities and risks are identified early, investment proposals are thoroughly assessed, and governance standards are consistently upheld. This capability is essential to support the developers ongoing transition, sustainable growth, and long-term competitiveness in a rapidly changing market environment.
Responsibilities include:
Market Intelligence & Industry Monitoring
Monitor and analyse developments across Irish and European energy markets, including regulatory updates, auction frameworks (e.g., RESS, ORESS, CfDs), capacity market changes, carbon pricing, and competitor movements.
Translate market insights into strategic briefings and commercial implications for the investment pipeline and overall strategic direction.
Develop and maintain a structured approach to reporting market and policy intelligence to senior leaders and project teams.
External Advisory Interface
Act as the primary liaison with external market and commercial advisors, ensuring inputs are effectively integrated into internal modelling and business case development.
Manage relationships, project scopes, and deliverables with advisors to ensure consistency and value across multiple investment workstreams.
Investment Governance & Business Case Support
Lead the preparation of high-quality investment materials, including business case summaries, financial assumptions, and risk assessments for internal governance processes (Stage Gate reviews, Investment Committee).
Ensure documentation adheres to internal investment governance standards and reflects the latest market assumptions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Strategy, Commercial, Legal) to gather inputs, challenge assumptions, and align messaging.
Shareholder Engagement
Support the preparation of documentation and responses required for NewEra submissions and state-related investment reviews.
Coordinate responses to information requests, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with strategic objectives and investment rationale.
Data Integrity & Process Improvement
Maintain up-to-date databases and dashboards of key market indicators, pricing assumptions, and benchmarks to support repeatable and transparent investment assessments.
Identify opportunities to improve internal investment governance processes and alignment across departments.
Other Responsibilities
Co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring health, safety, and welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises.
Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives.
The Person:
Education
Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Postgraduate or professional qualification (e.g., CFA, MBA) is an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in market intelligence, commercial analysis, or investment governance.
Strong knowledge of Irish and EU energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and investment mechanisms.
Familiarity with renewable energy project economics, regulatory filings, and state aid frameworks.
Technical Skills
Proven analytical capability with excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of high-quality materials for senior leadership teams and investment committees.
Skilled in project or process ownership, with the ability to deliver results through structured governance and analysis.
Competent in cross-functional collaboration.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
Demonstrated experience engaging senior stakeholders, building consensus, and managing complex decision-making processes.
Experience leading or mentoring teams, or driving collaborative outcomes across departments.
Professional Memberships
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CFA Institute, Energy Institute, Engineers Ireland, ACCA, etc.) is desirable.
